About this site

This site helps you find the postal code for any place in Nepal. Nepal Post moved to new postal codes in 2025. Each local level (palika) has a 5-digit code, and each ward has a 7-digit code.

Why this site exists

For decades, people have searched online for Nepal's postal codes, also called ZIP codes or PIN codes. For much of that time, the answer many of them found was the postal code table on TechSansar.com (opens in a new tab).

A lot has changed since then. With federalism, Nepal now has 753 local levels: metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities (nagarpalikas), and rural municipalities (gaunpalikas), each divided into wards. In 2025 the Department of Postal Services announced new postal codes to match, with a code for every local level and for every ward.

This site is dedicated to those new codes. We have not found another site, including the official one, that makes it this simple to find the code for your province, district, palika, or even your ward. Feel free to use it, link to it from your social media pages, and share it with your friends and family.

An independent site

This is an independent website. It is not an official government site, and it is not run by the Department of Postal Services or Nepal Post.

The codes come from the official list published by the Department of Postal Services. The Sources page explains where each part of the data comes from and how we check it.

Report an error or ask us

If a code or place name looks wrong, please report it. Every report is checked by hand against the official list before any data changes.

The same form is how you contact us. Choose what your message is about: an error, a question about which code covers your neighborhood or tole, or something else, and add your email if you would like a reply. If you cannot find your place, ask us about your neighborhood.
